A Monterey law office called because Outlook kept signing out mid-morning. Same profile. Same laptop. MFA prompts that never quite finished. Billable time turned into waiting on a spinning wheel.

We see the same loop across Central California — law, ag, and builders — often enough that it should already have an owned playbook, not a shrug.

Local repair first

Many sign-out loops are still a workstation problem: cached credentials, a stuck Office session, a profile that needs a clean sign-in, or a device clock that drifted just enough to break tokens.

Good IT starts there. Repair the client, clear the bad cache, confirm the user can stay signed in through a normal work block. That closes a large share of tickets without touching the tenant.

When it is not “just Outlook”

If the loop follows the person across devices, or MFA keeps bouncing after a clean local repair, escalate to identity. Duplicate accounts, Conditional Access conflicts, and stale MFA methods show up as “Outlook keeps signing out” from the user’s point of view.

The tell for a weak provider is endless local resets with no identity review. The tell for a solid one is knowing when to stop reinstalling Office and start fixing the account.

Why coast and Valley firms both feel it

On the coast, lost morning hours hit fee work and client calls. In Fresno and Paso Robles offices, the same loop stalls invoicing and project email. The symptom is identical. Ownership of the fix should be identical too.

We fixed that Monterey workstation with a local repair, then confirmed the account itself was clean so the loop would not return on day two. No invented ticket counts — just a clear split between client repair and identity escalation.

Staff should not live in a weekly sign-out ritual. If the same people bounce every Monday, the root cause is still open — workstation or identity — and someone on the IT side should own closing it before the next billing week starts the same way.

What we do

We repair Outlook sign-in loops at the workstation first, then escalate to Microsoft 365 identity when MFA or account issues are the real cause — so the office gets a lasting fix, not another reboot.

If Outlook keeps signing people out and the only advice is “try again,” contact us. We will separate a bad cache from a bad account.
